Foch - Kuhlmann 188-2

A widely grown grape in Minnesota. Very vigorous variety. Small clusters and berries with good disease resistance. Partial secondary crop in event of spring freeze. Wine is reminiscent of Burgundy with some herbaceousness if left on skins too long. With minimal skin contact and cold fermented, Foch produces an excellent true rose. The grapes should not be allowed to hang on the vine after maturity or high ph levels will result. Ripens early to mid season. Hardy in southern Minnesota, mixed hardiness in central regions
